The MASCARAS project draws its strength from the symbolism of Mexican masks, true emblems of transformation and inner power.

Rooted in the country’s culture, these masks both protect and reveal, embodying the duality between shadow and light, calm and intensity.

This duality also runs through the film: during their journey to Mexico, the surfers explore spots with opposing faces—some peaceful and meditative, others powerful and untamed.

This alternation between serenity and storm echoes the search for balance in surfing, as well as that of each individual, oscillating between control and letting go.

MASCARAS thus celebrates the union of strength, spirituality, and freedom.
